Conception
The Alamankon Farmers’ Cooperative Society (AFCO) started as an idea introduced by Mr. Ngang Vadex Ngang during a meeting in the compound of late Pa Chi Ngang John on 29/11/2016. The meeting was attended by more than 150 persons who were enthusiastic about fighting poverty through cooperative efforts.
Registration
In 2017, AFCO officially registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, with the registration number NW/GP/01/17/99. The cooperative expanded its membership and activities, focusing on agricultural development, savings, and community empowerment.
Growth
In 2020, AFCO transformed into the Alamankon Multi-Purpose Cooperative Credit Union Ltd (AMACCUL). This evolution marked a significant milestone in the cooperative's journey, as it expanded its services to include financial products and services, such as savings accounts, loans, and financial education.
Present
As of 2024, AMACCUL continues to make a positive impact on its members and the community. Through its various programs and initiatives, AMACCUL has contributed to poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, and sustainable development in the Alamankon community and beyond.
